A very popular type of temporary import, re-export is cargo import for exhibition and event which is also the easiest type to handle. 1st of all, there are many types of temporary import, and each type will have different requirements.
The document required are
+ Invoice (non-commercial, for customs purpose)
+ Packing list
+ Airway bill or the bill of lading
+ The official document from the organization of the exhibition/event.

The last one in particular is very important, the organization should issue an official statement detailing the information of the event, and the official invitation to shipper and/or consignee to participate in this event. Importer/consignee doesn’t have to pay for import duties and taxes, but they have to state clearly how long do the cargos need to stay in Vietnam, the standard time is 30 days, but it is up to agreement between importer and customs.
And it is possible to re-export in a different mode of transport (for example, import by air and export by sea). Be mindful to re-export in time to avoid fine by customs.
